Who’s Where 8.21.09

In this edition of Who’s Where: Edelman Leather, IIDA, Paoli, Parsons The New School for Design, HOK and SmithGroup.

*Amy Darrah has been promoted to president of Edelman Leather, Knoll’s specialty business which sells fine leathers to the residential, hospitality, aviation and contract office furniture markets. Darrah has served as the Knoll New York regional manager since 2003 and has led her team to record sales for the region. In her new role, she will work with Edelman associates to continue to drive growth opportunities and focus on Edelman’s pace setting design and storied brand history. I

*Carmen O’Donnell has been appointed as communications manager at the IIDA. In this role, O’Donnell will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Association’s communications initiatives and strategic publications. *Steve Smith is returning to Paoli as vice president sales, eastern region.

*Radhika Subramaniam has been appointed as director and chief curator of the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center (SJDC) at Parsons The New School for Design. The Center, which opened in 2008, develops exhibitions and programs that place art and design in the context of larger social and cultural issues, reflecting its place in a university, The New School, with strengths in the arts and social sciences. Subramaniam will also serve as an Assistant Professor of Art and Design History and Theory.

*Peter Winters, FAIA, CFM, a senior vice president at HOK, has been appointed to the position of management principal for the firm’s Dallas office. Winters joined HOK in 2004 and has more than 33 years of project management, facility management, strategic planning, architecture and interior design experience in the US and throughout the world. In addition to being responsible for the overall management of the HOK Dallas regional office, Winters is still dedicated to his ongoing global client and project commitments. His responsibilities include the day-to-day operation, financial performance, strategic marketing plans, staff development and coordination with HOK firm wide groups.

*Brad Woodman, AIA, vice president and studio leader for the Science & Technology division of SmithGroup‘s Phoenix office, has been elected to the SmithGroup Board of Directors.
