The financially strapped AIA’s new headquarters design plan will be supported by the National Capital Planning Commission, it was announced Thursday. The AIA is in the process of turning its headquarters at 1735 New York Ave, NW, Washington, DC, into a green and carbon neutral building. The building was originally designed by The Architects Collaborative in 1973.
NCPC said at its meeting on Thursday that AIA’s proposed plan would not adversely affect federal interests.
