*The Washington, DC, office of gas and oil giant BP Americas has earned LEED-CI Platinum certification, becoming the second project in its region and one of only 13 nationwide to earn the top-level certification. Designed by FOX Architects, the 22,000 square-foot space is a government affairs office for BP. Workstations feature higher panel heights to give a sense of privacy, but are designed in glass so occupants are not walled off. Team rooms, informal lounge areas, and a large pantry/living room provides a variety of work environments for staff, who migrated to the open model from a closed office.
*Knoll’s new Dallas showroom is pending LEED-CI Gold certification. The space is centrally located at One Arts Plaza in the heart of Dallas’s arts district.
*National Office Furniture’s Santa Claus, IN, facility achieved the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) STAR status. Through a comprehensive onsite evaluation and application process, National earned STAR recognition demonstrating excellence in its health and safety management system, preventive measures and thorough awareness among the entire workforce.
As a division of Kimball International where employee health and safety is a top priority, National’s Santa Claus facility becomes the fourth VPP STAR site in the Kimball International network. Currently, there are 56 STAR sites in Indiana and approximately 2,000 in the United States (out of 7 million employers).
