A Workplace Index Survey on the nature of work looks at the significance of social networking. Commissioned by Steelcase and spurred by how best to bridge the communications between the Millennial and Boomer generations working together, the survey went out to 300 office workers nationwide. 71% of respondents foresee social networking sites playing a larger role at work in the future. Although there are marketing and recruiting advantages to networking, respondents shared concerns for workplace productivity. Further information on workplace issues is available in the knowledge center on Steelcase’s Web site at www.steelcase.com.
